A Vision Brought to Life
After a lot of prayer, a little nudge, and a whole lot of determination, Anina Potgieter Optometrists opened its doors on 1 November 2008 in Stellenbosch’s Plein Street. At the time, Anina was six months pregnant with her second daughter—so technically, she started two lifelong journeys at once! Fast forward 16 years, and she and her team are still proudly helping families in Stellenbosch see the world a little brighter.

Anina Potgieter
Optometrist and Vision Enthusiast
Anina Potgieter isn’t just passionate about eyesight, but also about insight! With a Bachelor’s in Optometry from Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg) and an Advanced Certificate in Optometry, she takes a holistic approach to vision, ensuring that what you see also makes sense to your mind and body. She’s also a certified Stark-Griffin Dyslexia Association professional, helping those with visual processing challenges navigate the world more easily.
Her special interests are paediatric and behavioural optometry, which looks beyond 20/20 vision to how your eyes work in harmony with your brain and body. After all, seeing is believing, but it’s also understanding, interpreting, and responding to the world around you. When she’s not fine-tuning your vision, you’ll find Anina hiking in the Jonkershoek mountains, exploring local markets, or enjoying a good book with her husband, and their daughters.
Subet Ludick
The Organiser Extraordinaire
The practice runs like clockwork thanks to Subet. She’s the go-to guru for all things administrative, from managing finances and stock to scheduling appointments with precision. Basically, she’s the glue that keeps everything (and everyone) together
With a background in medical reception and even a year of nursing training, Subet has a keen eye for detail and a big heart. She’s also a mom to a very small doggie and book lover, always ready to swap stories about her latest read.
Jacolien Bartolini
Optical Dispenser and Frame Whisperer
If you’ve ever struggled to find the perfect pair of glasses, you haven’t met Jacolien. With over 20 years of experience in optical dispensing, practice management, and marketing, she has a sixth sense for matching faces to frames. Whether you want bold and trendy or classic and understated, she’ll make sure you walk away with glasses that feel like they were meant to be.
Jacolien trained at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and has a deep understanding of both fashion and function when it comes to eyewear. Beyond the world of optics, she’s a devoted mom of two and spends weekends off-road biking with her husband.

The Heart of the Practice
Pinkie is the first friendly face you’ll see when you step through our doors, and her warm smile is just as reliable as her dedication to keeping the practice running smoothly. From making sure everything is spotless to helping patients feel at home, Pinkie does it all with heart and care.
She’s a proud mom to two energetic boys, a talented choir singer, and a valued leader in her Kayamandi community. Whether she’s at work or with her church congregation, Pinkie’s kindness shines as brightly as the clean, welcoming space she maintains.
